So Your Response Should be:
Place your hand on the patinet's Shoulder and say
Mr _____ I can understand what you are going through, but i am here to help you and will try to make things easy for you as much as I can.
You problem my be caused by a no. of conditions, some of them may be curable and some might not be. I am not sure about that right now. Let me run a few labs and other tests, after getting the results I will be able to tell you for sure.
