Getting Started

UNDERSTAND THE EXAM This is the single most important thing

EXAM PATTERN

Time duration-: 7 hours approx.

No. of cases-: 12

Time for each case-: 25 min. (+5 min. for

moving to next case)

Out of 25 min-: 15 min for history, exam and counseling, 10 min for writing or typing

Total Brake time-: 45 minutes ie

30 min brake for lunch +

15 min brake for drinks

OVERALL PATTERN 5 Cases, 30min brake, 4 cases, 15 min brake

and finally last 3 cases and U r done

WHATS BEING TESTED Its a test of a candidates ability and skills to

to interact with the patients in a kind, gentle

but a professional way. His (or her) ability to

get a good history, do a physical exam and

Ability to show empathy and counsel the patient

and to deliver information in a proper manner.

EVALUATION & SCORING This is done based on the following three

components

1) ICE or integrated clinical encounter

it has two sub components ie data gathering

and patient note.

2) CIS or communication and inter personnel

skills

3) SEP or spoken English proficinecy
